113 jaa 69 ei - 113 Yes 69 No

2023

My comprehensive work "113 Yes 69 No," consisting of portraits and floral installations, explores the societal and cultural boxes imposed upon individuals, self-determination, and highlights trans visibility—particularly through the lens of trans men.

In his book "How to Be a Man or Woman or Something Else?" Teemu Mäki writes that the four fundamental tasks of art are pleasure, dialogue, the pursuit of wisdom, and the development of emotional life.

While all these four elements are present in the foundation of my work, and my moral identity stands firmly alongside its context, the reason for its creation lies much deeper. At its core, it is about human rights.

As the installation withers, what remains in the air are purity, love, radiant allure, dedication, and honor, giving space to Dakota, Kasper, Joonatan, and Samuel.

Thank you to the Finnish Concordia Society for supporting my project.

The piece was exhibited at Puristamo, Cable Factory, Helsinki, as part of the Kajo group exhibition, April 27 – May 7, 2023.
